Our cleaners are designed to keep your home spotless, and we’re always on the lookout for new products to meet our customers’ needs. Today, we’re looking at current and upcoming products in our HYDRO collection and exploring how to use them efficiently on your carpets at home.

Ewbank’s HYDRO Range

Our HYDRO family of products combine water with advanced cleaning technology to deliver a deep clean whilst reducing the need for harsh chemicals.

HYDROC1 Carpet Cleaner

HYDRO

Say goodbye to spills, muddy footprints, and dusty carpets with the HYDROC1 Carpet Cleaner. Whether it’s everyday messes from the kids or a full-on spring cleaning, this cleaner has you covered.

You can even boost its power by adding your favourite low-sud carpet detergent to the clean water tank. The fixed brush digs deep into carpet fibres for a thorough scrub, leaving your carpets fresh. Plus, when you’re finished, the water tank is easy to empty and clean, ready for the next use.

HYDROC2 Carpet & Upholstery Cleaner

HYDRO

The HYDROC2 is your go-to for spotless carpets and upholstery. With a wide 25cm cleaning path and powerful suction, it easily picks up dirt and keeps your home looking fresh.

Plus, you can clean for longer without repeated interruptions thanks to its large 1.7 litre water tank and a 1.3 litre dirty water tank. It easily adapts to different surfaces and cleaning needs with its 1.8 meter upholstery tool and adjustable water flow valve.

Additionally, the 7.2 meter power cord gives you the freedom to move around the room without constantly having to search for a new plug.

How to use your carpet shampooer

Now that we’ve explored the different products offered by Ewbank, let’s go over how to use them correctly.

Step 1 – Prepare and spot treat your carpet

Before you start cleaning, it’s important to first prepare the area. Start by vacuuming to remove any loose dirt and debris that could turn into a muddy mess once you begin shampooing. Ewbank’s AIRDASH Cordless Vacuum is ideal for this, as it’s designed to thoroughly clean carpets and rugs.

Before you start, make sure to do a quick patch test with your shampooer on an inconspicuous area of your carpet. This helps ensure the shampoo doesn’t cause any unwanted discolouration or damage.

Next, tackle any visible stains by pretreating them with a little stain remover or even a bit of your carpet shampoo. Let it sit for a few minutes to break down the stain, making it easier to lift whilst cleaning.

With your carpets prepped, it’s time to set up your cleaner. Simply lift the clean water tank off the carpet shampooer and pour in the cleaning solution, following the recommended dose. Fill the rest with clean, warm water (up to 40°C), as the warmth helps loosen dirt more effectively. Secure the cap, and you’re all set to give your carpets a fresh finish.

Step 2 – Use straight lines

HYDRO

Now that your carpet cleaner is set up, it’s time to start cleaning. To get the best results, follow these simple tips for using straight lines.

First, plan your cleaning route. Decide where you’ll start and finish to avoid stepping on areas you’ve already cleaned. This approach helps you move smoothly across the room without backtracking. As you move the cleaner, allow a small overlap between each pass. This overlap ensures you don’t miss any spots and helps prevent streaks.

When pushing the cleaner, go at about half the speed you would when vacuuming. Moving at a slower pace gives the cleaner more time to extract dirt and moisture, leading to a deeper clean.

Step 3Empty the water tank & do dry passes

HYDRO

After cleaning your carpets, it’s important to empty the dirty water tank to keep your product in good condition. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Take out the dirty water tank and unhook the catch to remove the lid.
  2. Empty the dirty water into your sink or drain. Rinse the container thoroughly until it’s clean to prevent any debris or grime from building up.
  3. Once the dirty water tank is dry, replace the lid and secure it by hooking the catch back into place. Ensure everything is properly aligned and reposition the container onto the unit, starting with the base.

Next, follow up with a few dry passes over the carpet without dispensing water. This step removes excess moisture, speeds up drying time, and prevents mould from forming. This is especially helpful in humid or poorly ventilated areas, leaving your carpets ready to use sooner.
